Tony Byrne is Founder of CMS Watch, a vendor-neutral analyst firm that publishes comparative evaluations of content technologies. At CMS Watch, Tony leads of team of analysts covering various technology marketplaces on behalf of solutions buyers. Prior to founding CMS Watch in 2001, Tony led the developer team a systems integrator, following previous stints as a programmer, journalist, and international educator. He is also the author of the CMS Report and publisher of the Enterprise Portals Report, the Enterprise Search Report and the ECM Suites Report, and an avid Green BayPackers fan.

Hi ! My name is Luis Suarez and I am a Knowledge Manager, Community Builder & Social Computing Evangelist in the IBM Software Group division. I have now been working for IBM for a bit over 11 years, the last 9 of those as a full time employee. Throughout all that time I have developed a passion for everything related to Knowledge Management (i.e. Learning & Knowledge, or Knowledge Sharing, whatever you would prefer to call it). That would include quite a few things that, as you may have noticed already, are part of the theme(s) I will be talking about here in my weblog: Collaboration (Specially remote collaboration), Expertise Location, Content Management, Communities and Community Building -whether we are talking about physical or virtual / online communities (Communities of Practice, of Interest, of Purpose, etc.), (e)Learning, Online Facilitation, Knowledge and Learning Tools, Social Computing, Social Networking, Social Software, Web 2.0, Enterprise 2.0, etc. In short, almost everything that has got to do with knowledge sharing and collaboration. But with a twist. I am what some people would be calling a Knowledge Worker. And, as you can imagine, that is also my job inside IBM. I am working in the IBM Software Group, within the Social Software Programmes & Enablement, and my main responsibilities are to help accelerate the adoption of social software within the enterprise, specially within the (Tech) Sales force and, as a result, to the entire IBM, by providing extensive education, training, coaching, mentoring, shadowing, support, facilitation, awareness and enabling knowledge workers to explore the opportunities of social computing and social computing tools to help enhance their own productivity while sharing their knowledge and collaborating with other knowledge workers.

After various senior executive positions at European level in high technology firms, he founded and managed the Neurope Lab, European Research Centre for the Knowledge Age. During the past three years Sören Stamer has transformed CoreMedia, a leader of people-centric Content Management Software, which he co-founded 1996, into an Enterprise 2.0. Jennifer Okimoto is a Senior Managing Consultant who specializes in the changing nature of work, social networking, and collaboration and learning. She has 17 years of experience helping organizations and their people manage change. Most recently, with the influx of web enabled social networking, Jennifer has been speaking, inspiring, and assisting corporate and government leaders to understand the societal and technological impact to themselves, their people, and the larger ecosystems in which they play. Jennifer is a highly regarded and in demand speaker and has been asked to present to groups across the US, in Toronto, London, Shanghai, Singapore, Buenos Aires and Bangalore.

Daniel Debow is the co-CEO of Rypple - a web service that helps people to execute and learn faster through honest and actionable feedback from colleagues, clients, and advisers. Previously, Daniel was a co-founder and the VP of Corporate Development and Marketing for Workbrain, a human capital management software company. Daniel has also worked for a major Wall Street investment bank and a leading international law firm. He holds a JD and an MBA from the University of Toronto and an LLM in Law, Science & Technology from Stanford University. He's a huge music fan and spends far too much time online.

Marc A. Smith http://www.telligent.com http://www.connectedaction.net marc.smith@telligent.com Marc Smith is a sociologist and Chief Social Scientist at Telligent Systems, a provider of fine quality social media platforms and systems. Smith specializes in the social organization of online communities and computer mediated interaction. He founded and managed the Community Technologies Group at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington and is now leading the development of social media reporting and analysis tools for Telligent. Smith lives and works in Silicon Valley, California. Smith is the co-editor with Peter Kollock of Communities in Cyberspace (Routledge), a collection of essays exploring the ways identity; interaction and social order develop in online groups. Smith's research focuses on computer-mediated collective action: the ways group dynamics change when they take place in and through social cyberspaces (for related papers see: http://delicious.com/marc_smith/Paper). Smith's goal is to visualize these social cyberspaces, mapping and measuring their structure, dynamics and life cycles. This research offers a means to gather historical data on the development of social cyberspaces and can be used to highlight the ways these groups differ from, or are similar to, face-to-face groups. Smith is applying this work to the development of a generalized community analysis platform for Telligent, providing a web based system for groups of all sizes to discuss and publish their material to the web and analyze the emergent trends that result. Smith received a B.S. in International Area Studies from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 1988, an M.Phil. in social theory from Cambridge University in 1990, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA in 2001. He is an affiliate faculty at the Department of Sociology at the University of Washington and the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland.
